Francia, al igual que muchos países del mundo, ofrecen una visa de “vacaciones y trabajo” a ciudadanos de ciertos países. El objetivo de este tipo de visas es darle la oportunidad a jóvenes extranjeros, de conocer Francia y Europa, con la posibilidad de trabajar al mismo tiempo. Desafortunadamente, mucha gente no sabe sobre estas visas y no se aprovechan. En mi opinion, si su objetivo es trabajar y no solo viajar, lo mejor es llegar a una ciudad grande de Francia; allí sera mas fácil encontrar oportunidades de trabajo aún con la limitación del idioma. O irte para una ciudad turística, donde podrás encontrar trabajos por temporada.

France, along with many other countries, offers “vacation and work” visas to foreign citizens. The objective of these type of visas is to give the opportunity to young people, to experience France and Europe, with the possibility to work at the same time. Unfortunately many people don’t know about these visas and their benefits are lost. In my opinion, if your objective is to work and not just travel, the best thing to do is to arrive to a big city in France; there, you will find more easily work opportunities even with the language barrier. Or going to a touristic city, where you will find temporary jobs.

¿Qué es un “au pair”? una chica(o) joven quien viaja al extranjero para trabajar donde una familia como niñera: llevar a los niños a la escuela, llevarlos a sus actividades extra-curriculares, cuidarlos, y ayudar con las tareas de la casa. Todo esto a cambio de comida, alojamiento, una mesada, aprender un idioma nuevo y tener una experiencia cultural magnifica. En Francia y en Europa en general, es muy común que las familias tengan una chica au pair. Lo chevere de todo esto es que, la mayoría de las familias también te darán un carro para poder transportar a los niños, y siempre te darán el espacio para estudiar el idioma. Hay que tener mucho cuidado con las agencias que usen y cerciorarse de que sea legitima y te apoyen mientras estas en el extranjero.

All of this, in exchange for food, lodging, learning a new language, and have a wonderful cultural experience. In France and Europe in general, it is very common that families have a girl au pair. The cool things about all of this, is that most of the families will give you a car to transport the kids, and they will always give you your time to take classes to study the language. You must be careful with the agency you use, and make sure it is legit and that they provide you with support while you’re abroad.

El ministerio de educación francés, tiene en pie un programa de auxiliares de conversación extranjeros en Francia con 60 países. El objetivo del programa es un intercambio cultural y lingüístico entre los auxiliares de conversación y Francia. De esta manera los auxiliares podrán mejorar el francés y conocer mas sobre este bello país, y los colegios Franceses se benefician del conocimiento de la lengua nativa de los auxiliares. De los tres, este es uno de los programas mas completos ya que llegas a Francia con un trabajo, es remunerado, e incluye vacaciones escolares. Sin embargo, hay que tener cierto nivel de francés, pero si se planea con tiempo, una solución es tomar cursos de francés antes de aplicar.
